New Hire Trainer - Mesa, AZ

MDS Communications is one of the nation's top performing telephone fundraising companies, serving numerous nationally known non-profit, conservative political, religious and conservative public policy organizations such as Habit for Humanity, Operation Smile, the RNC, American Bible Society, and the National Right to Life Committee. Our Mesa location hosts our corporate headquarters as well as a 150-seat call center.

We are looking for an organized and experienced trainer to join our organization. The trainer will be responsible for delivering a training development plan, ensuring that all aspects of the training program are delivered, understood and retained by new hires. The ideal candidate will be a confident public speaker and a devoted educator who is up-to-date on the latest tools and resources needed to improve employee training and performance.

Trainer Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Train and mentor new hires to be successful callers

  • Train new hires on how to properly utilize our scripts to speak with donors and prospective donors, overcome objections and obtain donations

  • Train new hires on how to use our systems and software

  • Be the expert. Have confidence and understanding and demonstrate expertise and knowledge of the fundraising industry, MDS' clients, and internal policies and procedures

  • Be an effective communicator. Listen, learn and engage with employees to educate them on our clients, policies, values and guidelines

  • Instruct new hire training classes on ongoing basis

  • Assist in accurate and timely completion of new hire onboarding including new hire paperwork, updating employee databases, and shift/team assignment

  • Review employee performance and learning

  • Effectively manage the classroom and enforce MDS policies and procedures

  • Identify changes and updates that need to be incorporated into training and show the ability and desire to suggest and implement approved edits

  • Consult and collaborate with other managers and leadership

  • Inform leadership of any trends, employee issues, or concerns

  • Create training strategies, initiatives, and materials

  • Test and review created materials

  • Maintain database of all training materials

  • Have a drive and willingness to tackle and request asked of you.

  • Occasional travel

Trainer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in education, business, human resources, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Certification from talent and training associations a plus

  • Two (2) years previous experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software

  • Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms

  • Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement/goals

  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills

  • Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Willing to commit to 40-hours/week

  • Dependable and reliable


Print & Promotions Coordinator - Mesa, AZ

We are looking to hire a Print & Promotions Coordinator to who is responsible for:

– Working with our Client Services and Fulfillment Departments to produce print related artwork for our clients’ communication to their donors (letterhead, pledge cards, envelopes, emails)
– Assisting our Human Resources Department with employee recognition programs and activities, the promotion and coordination of special company and call center events, and the creation and ordering of company branded employee giveaways such as t-shirts and other items
– Assisting our Client Services Department with client retention strategies including regular client touches (gifts and other promotional items)
– Assisting our Client Services Department with client presentations and promotions in both printed form and Power Point
– Assisting Sales & Client Services Departments with on-site client visits
– Assisting our Sales Department with sales related projects and activities such as prospective client proposals, industry related print ads, sales visits, and conference attendance registrations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and TALENTS

– Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and InDesign is a must
– Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications is a must
– Experience with Website management, Social Media and html helpful
– Experience with CRM’s and Outlook Calendars helpful
– Must have positive zeal for the types of clients we serve as well as their missions
– Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities under the pressure of impending deadlines and established timeframes.
– Must enjoy working in a busy, fast-paced teamwork environment.
– Must be driven and willing to interact with several supervisors and wear multiple hats
